Don't be so sure. Nations and empires much greater than the U.S. have fallen in times past.

In a world where trillion dollar corporations are a reality, things might just happen like in the book.

There is always the possibility for powerful nations to fail at some point if they are maintained, but I don't think that books can predict the future. I would probably stick with the idea that books can present a range of different possibilities.

I believe with all the problems and scenarios they are facing, United States will lose power. It has happened before with other countries too and they were bigger than US.

Yes, there is uncertainty in the future unlike it is portrayed by states. Countries make nuclear weapons everyday and this could possibly be used to wage war against others.

I don't understand why anyone would refuse to believe that a great nation will surely fall sometimes in the future. Noone and definitely no country is invincible.

Exactly! Bigger, better and more developed countries stand where they stand just because they endorse themselves as bigger and better. Meanwhile, there are corps and nations who might be more advanced than them but are just waiting for the crack in power to assert their dominance. I know it sounds like a plot for a book, but it definitely seems possible :ugeek2:

I think as far as the government and corporations getting greedy and wanting more control goes, it does seem to predict the future. It is easy to see that people are easily lured by power in today's society so it would make sense that it just continues to get worse in the future.

USA could be ousted as the world's strongest nations. Currently, China and Russia are posing a huge threat to the USA. It could be dethroned as the world's super power.

Even in a day of growing monopolies I don't think this could happen quite that easily. All you have to do is search for news headlines starting "Millenials are killing ____ industry" to see that corporations are never as secure as they'd like their shareholders to believe. Even though the news is currently like 90% by something like only five companies, they're still struggling to hold our attention and trust. I'm not saying it's impossible, but no, I don't really think corporations could overcome government. There are just too many variables.

Yes, it depicts the future. Everything is possible. American influence all over the world can be surpassed. They could be ousted as the world's super powers.

Through history political powers have come and gone with invariable certainty. So to answer part of your question, USA will lose it's position sooner or later. It's part of natural process. It it will go the way "World, Incorporated" predicts is just a guessing game.

I think it only predicts the future if we follow that path.

Many of the book contents depicts things in the future. For instance, the government take over by corporations and and computerisation of transport industry.
