I think that the AI was intended by its creators to solely be a tool to improve the Agent’s experience. However, with Agent Silver’s modifications his AI becomes a real character. Perhaps the ship was one of the agent’s only real friends. Certainly he was closer to Agent Silver’s every day activities.
