I recently finished this one and wasn't a big fan of it. It definitely had its merits, but also its downfall. I liked how developed Sliver was, even if I could have used a bit more on his childhood. Also, I found Rex's character to be fun and even somewhat developed. However, the other characters were one-dimensional.

I didn't feel there was enough world building to get a good sense of how ordinary people lived. We get a glimpse, but it's mainly following Sliver, which isn't an ordinary life even for the setting of the book. In general, I can't imagine this happening in the future since we aren't given much to go by, just these articles that were more frustrating to read than anything else. They took away from the flow of the plot. There was several punctuation errors, and I personally didn't like the two different endings.

Overall, I gave the book a 2 out of 4 stars.

I gave this book a 4 out of 4 stars. My favorite parts are when Franklin and Rex argue. I didn't care for all of the news clips. Yes, I would recommend this book to people who like futuristic type books.

I do not recommend this book. There is a portion of the book that reviews Newspaper Articles to provide "history" for a character that is the most painful thing I have ever tried to read. Just give me a page of the two characters talking. The actual story makes little sense and contradicts itself. The main character is supposed to go through these life changing moments but you don't care. I don't know why the female character was introduced. It was a tough read for me. I'm debating between 1 and 2 stars on my review as I can't think of one person that would like this book. Just say "no" to this book.

This book just does not interest me even after such glowing reviews. However, I am sure there are people that like this style and will enjoy it and I encourage them to check it out.

I love this book, although I tend to like Dystopian novels anyway. The way you can draw parallels between their world and ours is amazing.

I loved the book. I thought it was exciting and thrilling. I liked the ship computer and his relationship with Sliver the best. It was great.

Read the free sample and review. I added it to my want to read shelf based on both. Can't wait to read it.

I haven't read the book yet but the reviews sounds good. I'm still deciding on whether or not to read the book. Books like this either bore me or scare me.

I read approximately 20% of the book and had to stop. I just could not get into it, as much as I tried.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

World, Incorporated: a Modern Dystopia is a very well-written sci-fi thriller that captures your attention over the first few chapters.
The introductory chapters have a slow start. Too much information, too many introductions to characters and to a new world order. Maybe if it was done more organically throughout the story it would be better. Nevertheless, the story progresses well and builds momentum It’s quite an interesting take on what the future may look like. I really enjoyed the characters and the way they interact and grow in the story. It really is one of the stronger features in this book. Tom Gariffo does an excellent work building this dystopian world and introducing the reader to it. It’s not hard to understand how the world evolves into that setting and that makes it believable and relatable. A very good and entertaining read with something for everyone.
