He is most definately an anti-hero since his attributes in the novel go against what we would expect for a hero. But to the contrary, he is a villain.

Perspective is very important, objectively speaking some of the acts he committed were evil. However, we must remember that this was his job and he was obligated to do as his employer instructed him according to the information he was given. So no, I don't think he was an anti-heroe.

I think he was an anti-hero, to begin with, but was evolving into a "hero" as the story went on. He certainly was not a hero, to begin with, because he killed without remorse, although as a result of brainwashing.

Being a hero doesn't mean you don't have flaws. It only means you were able to overcome inspite of the odds that were against you.I don't expect my heros to be without faults.I only choose to see their positive side.I think Agent Silver was a hero.Maybe a flawed one.

This remains somewhat challenging to place him on the side of a hero or an anti-hero but he is definitely more of an anti-hero.

He's definitely not a traditional hero. But these days, not all "heroes" are. Look at Deadpool. He is absolutely the opposite of a hero, but because he's doing things with his heart in the right place, he's considered one. I think the term "anti-hero" has had a bit of a metamorphosis over the past few years, and we need to relook at what the fundamentals are before we tackle this question.

I just don't think he's an antihero but his character shows that he is ready to do what is right and stand by it.

Yes. I am feeling the potential for Silver as a hero, though he struggles with the questionable morality in his past. I haven't finished the book but don't think he is developing as an anti-hero. He is cultivating strong redeeming qualities, such as compassion.

I called him a flawed hero. He really didn't care what he was doing. Then he seemed to think more and decided that he wanted to change. He seemed more human this way. We all have something we'd like to change in ourselves. He was a more believable character.

I agree. When he was doing the killings, he had been brainwashed into thinking that his boss's orders were correct. But later he started questioning his actions. That shows he was actually a hero at heart.

Anti hero by definition is "a protagonist that lacks attitude that make a heroic figure" and he was doing his job to the best of his ability. I don't think he's anti-hero
