Needless to say, World, Incorporated: A Modern Dystopia by Tom Gariffo reminds me of two additional, fictional tales I like where everything is very bad; the Left Behind book series by authors Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, dealing with Christian dispensationalist end times: the pretribulation, premillennial, Christian eschatological interpretation of the Biblical apocalypse. In addition to the amazing film series, Jason Bourne created by author Robert Ludlum. I too like the crafty airship named Chrome Wind and every part of its cool features, including but not limited to Franklin, the smart, often humorous, electronic computer board.
I don't like the long, drawn-out chapters regarding the historical lessons. Although, a significant part of the plot, the lessons between some of the chapters seemed to take away from the storyline. I feel the author should have selected a different approach.
In spite of my dislikes, I highly recommend this book to science fiction fans near and far. In addition to those who wonder what could become of the United States of America and the world-at-large.

This is true. The nature of the futuristic world was astounding. The perfect rating is well deserved.Yolimari wrote: ↑13 Aug 2018, 15:20 I think it was an awesome and interesting read. I was amazed by how Tom Gariffo imagined a futuristic world that could be indeed a possibility. I liked that Agent Sliver is a flawed and complex character. I loved the banter between him and Franklin. I only wish Kelly had not died, but maybe her death was necessary for Agent Sliver to wake up from the way he was living his life. I rated the book 4 out of 4 stars and would certainly recommend it to fans of science fiction, thriller, and dystopian novels.
