I have never heard of that mission, but it makes sense. Maybe the author borrowed what he knew and thinly veiled some of the circumstances to rival that of this. Interesting points.

Such experiments are really very difficult to bear by human beings. I'm agreed with the feelings of Silver in this case.

Yes! I even met someone once who said he had been a part of those experiments. At first, I did not believe him, but after reading about experiments like those you describe, I reluctantly came to think that perhaps he had.

No, I did not notice because I'm not familiar with such a terrible, real-life governmental experience. But good observation. However, I thought it was very cruel read in fiction.

Some say that MK-Ultra still exists. If you put that subject in a search, let’s say on YouTube, you will find a lot to watch. Sad to think that our government would act like Nazi Germany. But, history has shown that institutions run by people fall to corruption in one shape or form. I did not find myself thinking of MK-Ultra while reading the parts where Sliver undergoes his brainwashing, but now that you mention it, I would have to agree with you. Still trying to contemplate the ending. I won’t say what happens as I don’t want to ruin it for others, but it left me with questions.

Wow that's incredible! I hope he is doing well

I agree! I am deep into the theories if you know what I mean ;)

It's disheartening that that Agent Silver suffers from memory loss following his torturous experience. I felt sorry for him.

Yeas, I found it eerily familiar. Makes you wonder what would have happened if MK Ultra hadn't stoped.... If it really stoped.

The Reclamation does have some strong parallels with MK-ULTRA. It was only really brought to my attention when Silver started talking about the propaganda schools but after that, I looked back and could easily see the similarities in other places as well.

Thank you, I never knew about MK ULTRA. I will do my research on that.
From what you describe, the similarities are undeniable.

I didn't think about this, but now that you mention it, I do see the correlations.

If you want humans to commit certain atrocities, you have to completely rewrite their world view. This, I think is the aim of methods such as torture and hypnosis. Though I have never heard of said project above, it certainly bears some similarities to what happened to agent silver.

This was something I definitely noticed. The torture and treatment meant to reshape him/others to ultimately serve a purpose.

Your comments remind of "Pancake Money" by Finn Bell. In the story, the theme is presented that if any person suffers enough pain, you can get him to do whatever you want. Sounds similar to what you have described. This is also seen in socialist societies. When the government controls, or takes away, enough freedoms, e.g. causes enough pain - the people fall in line!
