Yes, I think if the reader had more of a back story for Sliver it would have been quite a bit like Borne.

I didn't think so until you said something. I love the Bourne books, and think Jason Bourne is a way better spy than Sliver. Maybe a movie would change my mind though...

Yes .
When Silver had been tortured and had been suffered from traumatic experience, this situation exactly looks like the movie JASON BORNE.

What a fantastic observation! Yes, I see the resemblance: the hero who borderlines as an anti-hero, the past shrouded in secrecy, and the almost inhuman ability to fight and keep emotions at bay. Indeed, Sliver and Jason Borne appear to be similar characters.

The two characters share similar traits. They are both victims of amnesia.

I thought so too, there's definitely similarities. Waking up not knowing who they are but having certain talents does seem to be a bit of theme for a character in several movies and books, but it certainly adds the mystery element that draws the reader in even more.

Yup indeed! Especially when Jason came to his senses and sought revenge.

In a way the two characters resemble each other.

I agree. However, "spy who is wronged and then avenges" is becoming annoying.

I agree. It's one of the reasons why I loved the Bourne series (together with Matt Damon's awesomeness).

Both are victims of amnesia. Though it is temporary amnesia. They do not wholly remember their past.

From writers straying wildly from the source material, to director’s bitter fights with executives, to Matt Damon being chased on camera by fans during production (that footage made it into the movie), the journey of delivering the beloved character to the masses is just as interesting as experiencing the final product

Yes, there is a shared similarity of memory loss. Both characters are unable to recall the events of their traumatic experiences.

I can definitely see the similarities. Especially with the mysterious past and the curiosity of Silver and Borne to find out why these things have happened to them.
