how obvious was it that kelly was going to die?

due to gariffo lack of character building, it was inevitable that someone had to die to give some sort of emotion to the book. at first i thought it would probably be sliver who dies in the end to save kelly, (proving that he still can love) but then i saw they werent getting to his revelation soon so i surmised kelly must die.

I also thought that someone would die, as a form of pushing Sliver over the edge.

The author did a good job of creating suspense. I never thought Sliver would die. From the very beginning, he had a strong drive to survive. But, as we know, superheros cannot have girlfriends. Look what Lois did to Superman! (007, Bourne, Spiderman, etc.) It's always the girl that dies. Superheros need to be unfettered. This story follows the same story line.

Sincerely speaking, I never foresaw the death of any of the characters. I expected that Kelly would live to the end.

Well I was thinking silver would be the one to die but then it was surprising it has to be Kelly, it wasn't too obvious

Actually, my thought process was similar. I thought Kelly would somehow be the cause of Silver's death. I was thinking that she would be taking revenge on him. And in doing so, Silver would then die.

I also never thought Sliver would die, although I didn't think Kelly would either. But you're right - heroes need to be unfettered. Pity poor Kelly had to be the collateral damage.

Kelly's death caught me completely by surprise! It just seemed to happen so suddenly. I thought she was going to be Sliver's love interest, to tell the truth.

Maybe I was a bit naive, but I never imagined that Kelly would be killed off. I went a different direction with it, thinking Kelly would be what would bring humanity back to Sliver's character.

For me, Kelly’s death was unexpected because I didn’t feel that her character was developed enough.
I don’t know that I completely understood the depth or strength of Kelly and Sliver’s relationship, but I am curious to know what others think about the importance of their relationship to the story.

For one, I didn't expect Silver to die, being the hero of the story. I didn't also particularly expect Kelly to die. However, I wasn't shocked either when she did. I guess to me it was just part and parcel of the story. So to answer the question, it wasn't that obvious to me that she was going to die; however it didn't surprise me.

I didn't expect any one of them to die. It wouldn't have wrapped up the story well(my thinking).I was surprised when Silver and Kelly died.

I haven't read the book yet, but by someone dying do you think it made the book better or worse? Books where someone dies always tugs at my heart and I like happy endings more, but do you think the passing of this character enhanced the book?
