I did! When he entered the picture, I thought he was going to be the guy to deliver McDowell his final comeuppance, especially because he was so bitter about being cheated by him. I think once Paige started digging into McDowell's life, I got that Michael wouldn't be doing much more in the book. Seemed like he could have just been left out.

That’s how I viewed Michael too. He was very focused on his career and would have agreed to almost anything to move ahead and when that didn’t materialize as promised he wanted revenge
