I don't think it would make a great movie or a series for that matter. Maybe it's because I didn't enjoy the book and books that need to be adapted to Movies should be good. There was no great suspense in the book or that good essence about it that is worth being made to a TV series or a movie.

Yes. It'll be an expensive one though to capture the different settings. I vote for Jack Nicholson as McDowell.

I think every quality book has the potential to serve, at least in part, as a screenplay for a movie.

I loved this book. I don't feel justice would be done to the book by making it into a movie or series. To me, the magic of it being a great literary fiction, are the words directly from William H. Coles to his readers.

McDowell would be an awesome movie as long as the scenes of his incarceration, his escape and his grandson’s part in the book are emphasized. They aren’t pin pointed in the book as much, but as a movie, those would be awesome.

Oooh, this is such a good question! I think McDowell would make a great movie. It has the mystery, suspense, and complex family relationships that would hold the audience's attention. The plot is written in a relatively credible and realistic way, so a film director could easily draw directly from the events of the book. The only issue might be that many readers seem to be confused by the timeline and order of the events in the books. However, the movie could significantly improve or even get rid of these issues by using good cinematic storytelling.

I do not think it would be a good movie. The scenes in the story suit a book well, but not so much for a movie. The producers would have to change many things.

I think this will be a perfect movie with a lot of suspense although it doesn't have actions. The book will be a standalone movie.

Yes, it would be a big hit. There are different storylines and different characters. It is unique in its storytelling.

Considering the number of characters, the complexity of the plot and the number of characters, I think this book will be best as a tv series or movie series.
