I think the other camera was hidden or discretely placed so he would not have known about it.

He probably didn't see the second one. But it does seem strange.

I do feel that was a weak bit in the plot. Also, why would he confess? that was the thing that got him convicted and without it would have been near impossible to have a solid charge against him. I suppose author brushed over that part to place him in the position he had to be, to keep the story going.

He was too intelligent to forget about the second camera. I don't think he realized it was there.

I believe he either did not know about the second camera, or he was so focused on what he was going to do to his grandson that he became sloppy. I don't think he went into the room with the intention of taking his grandson's life, but once he got there, his anger and shame got the best of him.

I think he acted on impulse and was merely pressed by time, so he might have just missed the second camera. Anyway, his gesture is in itself irresponsible and shows his lack of concern for everybody else, including his daughter Sophie who is around at the time.

There !may be a possibility that camera was hidden at a place hidden from his sight to get the original report about the murder and crime.

I think he was too arrogant to consider the consequences of the camera. He was a master at using his resources and status to evade and rise above conflict, so even if it had occurred to him that there was a second camera, I don't think he would have cared much to move it.

It could be due to his high adrenaline in the situation, or his sense of urgency and anger overwhelmed him and made him sloppy. Besides, it's strange to have more than one camera in a hospital room, but the kid was a suspect of a shooting case, so I guess it made sense. Maybe he didn't even consider this and assumed that avoiding one camera was enough.

I think Hiram didn't know about the second camera. Also, he didn't have the time to look for it because he wanted to seize the opportunity to end Jeremy's life.

I think he completely forgot about it. Maybe he thought that there was just one camera?

I think it was just a careless mistake. I think he either did not see it, forgot about it.

This is one of the points that struck me as odd. I was also astonished to see him neglect the second camera. I am not sure about the answer. It surely doesn't match his character to forget about security measures. Nor does he seem like one who would intentionally jeopardise his own career. Maybe recklessness is the answer to this riddle.

I think it was his over confidence. He must have missed the second camera. I think he just wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible, and in his rage for Jeremy, he forgot to fix the second camera.

He might not even know about it as it was not supposed to be facing there. But yes, he did forgot about it.
