I like Sophie's character best in the story! Her venture of visiting the backward area of Nepal for a welfare project, her concern about the plight of women, her supportive nature as Billie's sister and finally a comic ending of her life story, all added to the magnitude of the book's quality. One would like to read the book again!

originally I did not really care for Sophie, but as the book progressed I saw Sophie transform from someone who let people take advantage of her to not really knowing who she was, to someone who become strong and stood up for her beliefs and made a name for herself.

I did not like the character of Hiram; he was a narcissist at best. Apart from that, I loved the female characters of Sophie, Paige, and Maud. They had vision and self-esteem.

Princeton Navarro! Okay, I'm kidding. His character made me laugh, but I didn't like that Portlandian, lol.

I am going to go with Sophie. Her character was creative, compassionate, and brave. She had a perfect balance of being in touch with her emotions, but she didn't usually get lost in them. She didn't lose sight of the implications of her actions and the actions of others.

I like Paige, for trying to be sincere in her work despite the problems and demands created by his boss. She tries to be true to her work of line no matter how hard it gets. She overcomes her insecurities about his profession with her age and evolves to be good at what she do. She is opinionated and judgmental about McDowell but he had it coming with his ways of life.

Let me begin by stating that I do not like Hiram McDowell at all. Now that I have that covered, Sophie is my most preferred character in this book thus far.

Definitely Sophia. She becomes a strong woman from a naive, gullible and too trusting young woman. I like despite everything she faced, how she was able to stay true to herself. She was pure at heart.

Hiram would probably be my least favorite character! I didn't know it was possible to hate a main character so much and still love the book!

I think Sophie was my favorite character. She seemed like a genuinely good person. She really held her family together when times got tough.

This sums up why I liked Sophie perfectly! I liked her character arc and how much she grew within the book

I think I would choose Paige. She is also career driven but strives to do what is right. She wants to find the truth and expose corruption. She is a good friend but lonely.

I think I like Sophie the most despite her being a lesbian. She is ambitious, a humanitarian, caring and friendly.

I really liked the characters that Hiram met on his journey after his escape. Maud is probably my favorite character. I love that she also appears to have an educated background, which she tries to conceal. She was the first character to connect with Hiram and really wanted to protect him.
