Anything from Dan Simmons, maybe Children of Night for a good, retro horror tale. Also Clive Barker's The Thief of Always is great for readers of all ages.

I haven't heard about this particular book, but I have loved everything else I've read by Neil Gaiman. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
I don't think I've ever read anything by Neil Gaiman actually :eusa-think: Though I have heard a lot of good things about him!
He's a really great author. There have actually been quite a few movies and tv shows based off of his books.

Really? I did not know that either. I'll definitely have check out his work then!

American Gods and Stardust are two adaptations that come to mind. Hope you enjoy!

This is very likely the genre I have read the least amount of literature from. Does anyone have a suggestion on a book that is a good intro to the horror genre?

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson is my favorite in the horror genre. A scientist and his guest stay at a haunted house in order to see if it is actually haunted. It's a bit spooky, but not too bad.
