Bud was definitely my favourite character. I didn't really relate to any of the characters on a personal level, but due to Bud's humorous personality I found him to be the most likeable. Based on his interactions with other people, he also seemed to be a warm and fun-loving person.

I liked Willian Lance, he is such a loving and responsible father. I am impressed with the role he took of being both parents to Debbie, when her mother passed away when Debbie was 13years old.

Exactly. Without him the story would turn too boring. So he was very much needed to prevent boredom.

Bud, hands down! He showed a lot of personality. He had a caring side shown by his preoccupation about his partner's well-being. His sense of humor was refreshing. He could be tough and fall back on his "selective" listening at times. He was sensitive in his relationship with Deborah. He can even sing!

My favorite character remains to be William. I admire his love, care, and attention he gave his daughter.

Bud was the most relatable for me. Between his wit and humor, along with his random singing, he was definitely my favorite.

I like Bud's playful nature and comic relief, but my vote goes to William Lance. He is a strong and sensitive character whose love for his daughter is evident in everything he does. He is a reliable character throughout most of the novel.

Now that I've gotten further in the book, I have a better idea of the characters and their personalities. I would have to echo many others on here and choose Bud, since he was the comic relief and provided a lot of the lightness when it was needed most.

My favourite character was William Lance, he was a modest dad to Debie and single handedly raised her following her mom passing on. I could relate to his struggles.

I also liked Bud quite a lot. I just wish he didn't have such a foul mouth! But my favorite was definitely Paul Powers. He is tall, brooding, and handsome. If he just grew a backbone and properly pursued Rachelle, he'd be my perfect kind of guy.

Detective Healey was also interesting, pity he only makes an appearance towards the end. His dedication to protecting Lindsey was commendable.
