It averted me. Even though Scream is iconic, I don't think one would want their readers to automatically think of the franchise even if your book is of the same genre. It erases any independent identity one would want their book to have. So to me, it felt like it was almost preying on that familiarity and nostalgia of the franchise and the author couldn't be bothered to establish the book on its own.

I am pretty turned off by horror in general, so the cover of this book was not enticing to me. The "Ghost Face" is clearly represented in both the title and the cover. I don't like the font of the word "fear" - it strikes me as a bit childish and a little over-the-top. The Ghost Face is catching enough that regular font for the title would have sufficed. However, the plot sounds good. Based on reviews and numerous grammatical errors, however, I can't say I'm dedicated to reading it.

I completely agree. The familiarity of the "Ghost Face" erases some of the originality of this particular book. I think the author or designer could have altered it somehow to make it more unique.

I'm a fan of darker material, and absolutely love anything related to horror. Seeing the iconic face on the cover would definitely convince me to pick it up in a heartbeat.

The cover did not really turn me off the book but it also didn't make me like the book more. I agree that using Scream might not have been the best choice for the author since it makes his book seem like a cheap imitation rather than his own unique work.

The cover put me off reading the book for quite a while. And then I discovered that it doesn't represent the book at all accurately. More people would be interested in this book if it had a better cover.

Definitely the cover of a book does a great impact on building up a former idea in readers' minds regarding its content and this cover page has got that potential too. So I would like to support the topic positively.

The cover of a novel or any book for that matter should reveal a little about what the book entails. I thought that the use of 'ghost face' on the cover was a great representation of the book even though some might find it cliche

I like the cover. It appears a bit spooky but ultimately does a good job at getting attention.

The cover was a turn off for me because I'm not a fan of horror.

The book cover did not appeal to me at all. But then again, I'm not a fan of horror stories/movies.

The cover felt unoriginal to me! Obviously ghost face is very iconic, but I also find myself wishing that the author had come up with their own design since this story was their own separate creation!
