Ooh, that March challenge should be easy for me: I literally study medieval Irish literature, so about half of what I read for my degree is about/set in Ireland, if not in medieval Irish. 'Love' is harder, though, as I strongly dislike romance! I'm gonna have to interpret that one as 'familial' or 'platonic', I think...

Non-romantic love.....

Well, I was planning on reading Dean Koontz's memoir, A Big Little Life. However, I have been under the weather recently, and my reading has taken a turn for the non-existent.

Aside from that, I know there are some suggestions on the first page: My Sister's Keeper for one.

Also, I finished The Memory Painter. Quite enjoyed it, though it did fall prey to what most past lives stories do, though it did better towards the end.

I was also pleasently surprised by the ending.

I don't think I met the criterion for January. I barely made it for the February challenge, but I guess I have still got time. Do you have any suggestions that fit the bill for February and March?

what is a good genre : non-romantic love book ?

Switching things up and reading a book of 100 pages sounds like a great challenge. It will be challenge to pace myself and not read the entire book in one sitting.
I am excited to be part of this group since I read at least 2 - 3 hours per day. I get stuck in a genre until the books almost appear to repeat themselves.

I found another short book for Feb, which I started reading, "The Cybernetic Tea Shop" by Meredith Katz. It is less than 100 pages and a mix of Sci-fi and Lgbt.

It just dawned on me that all of the Harry Potters would count for non-romantic love. All of Harry's friendships are amazing, and they are such a major part of the whole series!

I finished "The Cybernetic Tea Shop" and loved it. It think it may fit non-romantic love as well, as it contains a platonic love between a woman and a female robot.

Now I need ideas for March.

I've got mine picked out, but it's a book in a series, and that book just happens to take place in Ireland.

How about Brooklyn, by Colm Tóibín? I haven't read it, but I watched the adaptation and enjoyed it. I may read it, one day, but some things I prefer to watch and not read (yes, I am weird).
