My goal for 2016 started off as 100 books, but when I reached this goal and the year wasn't over, I upped it to 120. However, I also went over that by the end of the year. For 2017, I have raised my goal to 140 books, and see how it goes. :techie-studyinggray:

I have never done this before, so this is just an estimate, but I'll guess this at at about three books a week, or about one hundred fifty for the year. I'll be interested to see how accurate this will be. My children are adults (avid readers also), and I am retired and so I am able to read pretty much as I want, a true luxury!

I did terrible last year and only managed to read 29 books, but I plan to try for at least 35. I did take off all of November for NaNoWriMo, so I'll take that into account this coming year.

I plan to read around 35-40 books this year. I really like to get to know my characters when I read, fall in love with them or hate them. Also, if the book I'm reading is historical rather than contemporary, I will usually do a little research on the era the books is written in. I will research the food, the clothes, some of the politics and it takes a little time, but it's worth it if I can truly understand where the writer is coming from.

I plan to read a modest 70 books this year, which I think is certainly achievable.

I felt like I was doing great by setting my goal at 24 haha. I guess two a month isn't a huge number, but with two children, work, and actually having a social life, I think it would be best to just double my challenge. I'm not going to be a reader who says 100 when War and Peace is on my list. So 48 it is for me.
