2016 Reading Challenge

Post by gali »

Do you have a personal reading goal for 2016? Now you can set one on our Bookshelves thanks to Scott! :)

Scott programed a cool feature enabling one to set a reading goal. You can now set your 2016 reading goal on our Bookshelves, and your progress will be tracked as you mark the books you have read through the year. So if you're hoping to read more books in 2016, take our ultimate reading challenge and set up a goal on your profile. At the end of the year you can see if your goal was met. Good luck! :)

@gali
I see we are both targeting 100 in 2016! I had a tentatively target of 100 this year but only made it to 71 (reading 2 at the moment & hopefull will get them read before the 31st and that will bring me to 73) but in my defence there were a good few very big books in my 2015 reading list.
Good luck & we'll see how we go ..... lots of enjoyment ahead :handgestures-thumbup:

Indeed. :)

Well done! 71 books is pretty awesome. :banana-dance:

I also had a target of 100 this year, but didn't make it. I have read around 90 books this year. Anyway, this is just for fun. Thank you and good luck to you too! :D

For the last two years, I've been reading about 100 books per year. 108 in 2014. This year I stopped keeping count in early september, when I had something like 75 books.
I'm still not sure what goal to set for 2016. I think I might set a smaller goal - 80 books, maybe, but to vow to review more. I would really like to get into the habbit to review more often, because there are so many wonderful books I read, and I want to share them and let people know.
In any case, I will be doing a TBR challenge. I will try to buy less new books, and read the one I already own.

I love this idea. I'd have to figure out how many I read last year to even set a number. But more importantly I need to flip it up and branch out into other genres.

Setting a super low goal of 25 books... It's the small victories that matter, right? ;)

This year I'd like to spend less time on reading books, and more on writing them!

According to my best guess....I read a little over sixty books. I've set my goal as seventy-five books. I don't know if I'll get there, but I'm sure to have fun trying! :D
(And I can always lower it if I fall too far behind :shhh: )

That's a great idea!! :D
I set a goal of 30 books this year and ended up reading 38! 8) So I'll increase the number to about 50, since I'll be graduating college and I'll have more time to read :banana-dance: (but that still depends on whether I'll be working or not).

My reading goal this year was 40 books and I wildly surpassed that. I've already read 70 books and expect to finish one or two more by Dec. 31. I am going to set my 2016 goal at 52 books. The total I read this year included some shorter review books - 2 or 3 poetry collections, a few children's books, a few novellas, and about 5 books that were less than 100 pages.

I've never had a reading goal before. Except when I was in primary school, I guess, but I always reached that goal long before the end of the year. But I guess now is the perfect time to have a reading goal again.
I'm going to keep it modest, since I'll be going to university next year and I am not so sure what the year will have in store for me.
I think 40 will be a good first-time goal... :)
