I agree. The title is a little heavy handed. It just didn't peak my interest.

I think the title catches the readers attention. I know many who have had cancer and would like to read more about literally winning the war on cancer.

The title depends on what kind of audience you want to attract, so if you want to attract a general audience that has no emotional connection to cancer, its a little dry and final, not much of a hook. If you want to attract those that have dealt with cancer in some way, there are two reactions people will most likely have: dislike and encouragement. Both of those are reasonable and depend on the situation of the reader.

It does sound optimistic, but I also feel that the title pronounces the book as an absolute way of overcoming what it claims to have overcome; the war against cancer. Of which, I still have my doubts.
I have my doubts as well thats why i haven't read this book yet. Sometimes i feel like reading it and on others i don't like it. May be i will read this and hope it will clear our doubts.

It would be wonderful if the book could clear my doubts regarding natural treatments and their effectiveness. But I'm not really sure that's something I want to read about either. Hope it would help you in some way or other :tiphat:
Another reason for not reading it is that i rarely read non-fiction and whenever i read this genre, i get bored very quickly and tgen stop reading it.

I have no problem with the title. However, the word "war" stood out strongly. When one imagines how ugly and heated war can be, and that this is how we have to confront cancer, you pause to think again.

This depends on how you define winning and who you think it targets as far as the title is concerned. In my opinion, you need to win against the pain that the effects of cancer are causing you. The title's as good as it can be.

On this, I concur with you.

I really do hope it does give them hope, otherwise it's a little presumptuous to give it that title.

Yes it's one way to look at it, however it's not just the pain of the effects cancer brings that the book wants to convey. It's all about cnacer itself. But the author doesn't have enough data to actually say that we have conquered cancer. But still, I do see it as a helpful and hopeful reminder that it can be won. :tiphat:

I think that the title gives hope and ideas for finding alternative cures for cancer. I think that it helps the reader to understand what the author’s belief of finding alternative ways to beat cancer and make awareness of the need to win against it.

The title is very apt because it is high time we start winning instead the other way round.

Winning the battle against cancer is one fight that a lot of people have to put up with. While in some cases the battle is won in most cases, it is left to the hands of the Almighty. I would say this title kindles hope among people searching for a cure.
