The best spy

I think that Jacko definitely has to be the best spy in this novel. He has the correct sense of presence to blend into most situations and to appear innocuous, probably due to his looks and mixed heritage. He is also able to follow and observe people very well due to his natural abilities. He also seemed to be the one doing a lot of the physical work. There can be no doubt that the ladies also faced a lot of danger and took considerable risks. This is my only criticism of the novel. Their work would have been far grimier than it was made out to be in the novel. To be honest, they were bedding men in an effort to get information from them, but this is definitely underplayed in the book. Sarah was also very good at what she did, but she was not really spying, but rather working against the criminals. I liked the way that the author used the abilities of Jacko and his sister to outwit the criminals in the outback.

Yes! Jacko seemed to be a fast-thinker in situations. His mind immediately adjusts well in everything he do or everything that is happening to him. I liked that part as well!

That's an interesting take in his character! I did not doubt Jacko at first, but when he came out with all this spy abilities, I had to rethink for a bit. But then, there were no signs that he is spying Jamie, so the idea quickly got out of my mind.
