Perhaps some religions can be mixed and combined; however, strict doctrines simply cannot be mixed. It’s like trying to combine water and oil.

I also enjoyed the fact that he mixed several different religions as I think they have a lot in common. It probably will make some people upset, though.

the diversity with which author worked throughout the book just add further beauty to it and thus make it accessible to a lot of people. However very religious people may not like the idea

I love the idea of mixing the religions as I feel most religions have more in common than not.

I was very pleased that the author drew ideas and practices from multiple religions. I think that most religions have more in common than they seem willing to admit. People so often separate themselves from others over minor points of dogma.

Spirituality is about finding your own truth so taking different aspects of different religions that are true to you makes sense. Religion is being told what is true to you.

I personally think that combining religious practices makes sense. Unitarian Universalism is a more modern religion that is inspired by the tenants of several religions. It focuses on the fact that none of these religions are "wrong" or "right", but all have lessons that can be sources of inspiration and insight. I think that reconciling our differences to acknowledge that everyone is seeking the same enlightenment is a great idea.

I would say the author of this book was just open-minded.
