Re: The Role of Tim in Richard's Life

Post by Emily Guerra »

I think that mentioning him in the story and how important he became in his process of learning and developing is his way of acknowledging him. Richard made it clear that Tim meant a lot him. They were meant to meet and help each other. Richard needed help reading and understanding to do well in school. Maybe Tim also needed to do something for himself as well. Coincidence or fate, it was something good.

Tim was really important in Richard's life. His name mentioned in the book shows he was a significant part of his growth through reading disorder.

I think Tim's involvement in the author's life played a significant part in overcoming his learning disorder. But this book is primarily about his spiritual journey and what he encountered through that, so maybe he didn't thought about mentioning Tim's name in the acknowledgement. But in a way the author acknowledges Tim's role by mentioning him in his memoir.

I don't think Tim is a coincidence, he is proof that things happen for a reason. It is because of his influence that guided Richard on the path that he took, making him a destiny changer and a vital one as by overcoming the first obstacles, he became more aware of how to approach the ones that followed; by not giving up.

I don't think it matters that he wasn't placed in the acknowledgment. I really appreciated that he spoke about him in the beginning, and he seemed very grateful for everything that Tim did for him.

Am at a loss as to why Richard did not include Tim in his acknowledgement, given the crucial role Tim played in his life. I don't think Tim's presence in Richard's life was a coincidence; it may just have been Richard attracting him with his mind.
