So true.

Richard's dreams and visions are scary but visionary. If people would not change, we are heading towards our own destruction. It was like a warning for everyone. I think he's blessed with those dreams, yet the burden was laid on his shoulders.

I have no reason to doubt his word. If he says he had those visions, he must have had them. But then again, they're visions, so it depends on your own interpretation how you'll see them.

Well, in my opinion, I think God just has different plans for each and every one of us. Perhaps those events only happened to him because he had an important mission in life to fulfill, and I believe that it's for the betterment for all of us. He may seem special, but all of us are, too. I do think we all deserve to be saved.

Believing that you are special can give you motivation to complete your mission. People who are suicidal have forgotten both things: that they are special, and that their life has a purpose.

When he was on the brink of suicide, he heard a voice telling him to change the way he lives his life and to think positively. Also, he was saved when he was about to get mugged. Would you say he is special? Maybe the reason why Jesus does not want anything to happen to him is that he wants him to find the essence of his teachings and give it back to the world.

What do you think? Share your thoughts.
Everyone of us is of use to a purpose. How do we realise this? There is a different way for everyone. Here is where you are you and how you fit into your role.

We all are different individual with different life goals. He was given a job from Jesus, so it maybe the reason he heard the voice who told him to change his way of life. We are given a job too, but it can be different and we may not know it by now. Maybe in the future we'll realise what we are born to do in the world. Everyone is born for a reason and everything happens for a reason too.

I think we're all special in the eyes of divinity. Most likely, if we think in depth about our past, there are chances to refer to at least one experience similar to Haight's, when he almost been mugged; a time when we felt protected or helped by something supreme than our logical understanding or maybe it happened in inexplicable circumstances. The experience that makes us wonder, "What just happened?" So, I believe we're all special by birth. How we develop our specific feature really depends on us.

I think as long as Jesus wanted him to get the dreams and visions, whether he was born again didn't matter. As for being special I believe everyone on of us is special in that we have our own unique purpose.

Yes I could say he is special to have had such dreams. Everyone of us is special too. All we need is trust God to discover our own area of being Special.Yes, Jesus wanted him to find the essence of his teachings and give it back to the world.

I agree, Lisa! Meditation can open a few incredible doors. It's up to us to put our hand on the doorknob and open them up, to take a look inside.

I beleive Jesus had great intention for his life and suicide would have cut it short. That's why Jesus intervened and saved him. We're all special in a unique way before Jesus.

In my opinion we are all special before God and so the character just like any other person is special and thus why he was kept. So I agree.
