I agree. People often mistake being confident on ones believes for being an extremist. Sure those two qualities are not necessarily mutually exclusive, but I don't believe this is the case here.

Just because one is sound in their beliefs doesn't necessarily suggest they're an extremist, or even being extreme. Shedding all of your belongings and traveling to an unfamiliar place to begin living your life in accordance with a system that is unfamiliar to you is somewhat extreme in the sense that it is an extreme change, a breaking of the norm.

I think we need to be careful with the word "extreme." It can imply something is dangerous.

I wouldn't call him extreme per se. But I do think that at some points it was a little 'RAWR', kind of 'scaremongery'.

Maybe he was extreme in his search for answers, but that makes him more admirable in my eyes. He knew he wanted to learn as much as he could in order to help Jesus by getting the word out.

I don't think it was extreme, he was rather firm and determined to get his point across

I think everyone experiences spirituality differently. Some people who struggle with mainstream spirituality may have success with some of his methods.

I think he just firmly believes in what he stands for religiously. I stand by my beliefs. So I understand his actions. I wouldn't call what he does extreme.

I do not think it is extreme. Everybody has their experience with spirituality and how we respond is equivalent to the level of conviction we feel in our hearts

The word extreme is subject to ones point of view. I think Richard acted as a purposeful person going against all odds to acquire answers no matter the odds. That's not extreme,it is called passion and determination

I don’t think that it was extreme. Everything was moderate from my standpoint. This is great read
