Review of Winning the War on Cancer

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

5/5, 5 OUT OF 5 STARS
Winning the War on Cancer, The Epic Journey Towards A Natural Cure, by Sylvie Beljanski

You probably, like me, have lost many friends and/or family members to cancer. The treatment for cancer is brutal, and often lethal, as Ms. Beljanski tells in this book. One has to wonder if the treatment is not often worse than the disease.

I rated this book 5 stars for many reasons, not the least of which it is an important book about alternative treatments for cancer. The information contained in it may very well help readers to deal with their own diagnosis of cancer.

Ms Beljanski recounts the story of her father, the bio-chemist Mirko Beljanski, who developed cancer-killing plant extracts in his independent research laboratory in France. Sylvie tells of his accomplishments in “Winning the War on Cancer,” and his downfall at the hands of political and professional foes.

Sylvie’s story is a non-fiction page turner, often times more interesting than fiction. Her father developed natural treatments for cancer that were used by the French president Francois Mitterand when he was suffering from cancer. The treatment extended his life in his secret battle with prostate cancer.

But, Beljanski’s life-saving plant extracts were not welcomed by the medical industry. A Titanic war ensued between the French medical industry and Beljanski and his natural approach to healing. His laboratory was raided unlawfully by a French S.W.A.T team that showed up in a helicopter with dogs and machine guns. He was handcuffed, his products and notes and research were seized, and his employees were arrested as they showed up for work.

Mirko Beljanski’s lab was sprayed with toxic chemicals, and he was forced to spend the night breathing them. He was ordered to do no more research. Everything he had worked for his entire life was confiscated, gone overnight.

He was forbidden to do any further research and was put under house arrest, after which tine he became ill with acute myeloid leukemia. Because he had been healthy before the raid on his facility, he daughter, Sylvie, believed the chemicals sprayed in his lab caused his illness.

After her father’s untimely death, Sylvie, who had become a successful New York attorney, sued to clear his name in European Court of Human Rights, where he was exonerated of any crimes. It is ironic that the plant extracts that were developed by Beljanski were not available to him when he was dying.

Sylvie Beljanski believes that drug companies block information from the public about alternative treatments for cancer. She believes they do not want natural alternatives to pharmaceutical drugs to be available because there is little profit in natural products.

Ms. Beljanski’s book describes in detail how genetic information is read by cells and how DNA is destabilized by cancer cells. She describes the damage done to cells by environmental toxins.

Ms. Beljanski promised her father before he died that she would make sure his products would be available and that she would continue his research. She, along with the help of her mother, are able to fulfill his request through the Beljanski Foundation that she established.

This book is a must read for anyone concerned with toxins in the environment and how they impact our health. It contains detailed information about the way cells respond to toxins and how they can heal with Beljanski’s natural products.

I can enthusiastically recommend “Winning the War on Cancer.” It will enlighten readers and give them a new perspective on treatment for cancer and AIDS
