ARA Review by AZFictionWriter of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

4 out of 5 stars. This book is a compilation of philosophy, spirituality and gentle scientific theories about how to live a well-intentioned life. The premise of the work is that we each house the ability to improve the circumstances of the world if we coordinate our individual efforts with the same unified acts of kindness and decency.

I found {i} In It Together {i} to be written with great generosity and encouragement as it addressed the complexity of life and grappled with things such as the duality of love and hate or war juxtaposed against the personal joys of a daily life. This book is not a How To Guide, but rather an anthem about the act of being human. While suggestions and perspectives are provided, the advice, rather than being a 'system to follow' or a 'rules to abide by' format is instead a gentler push, allowing the reader to choose how to assimilate the material. The ideas are tempered with supporting theories, philosophies and relevant quotes, as if it were a gentle plea for readers to follow the prescription for kindness and compassion.

I was moved by the writer's ability to balance pointing out our own role in enacting change without passing judgement on the reader.

I really enjoyed the work and the concept and gave it a strong 4 star rating. Much of the content was familiar, in that we all intuitively know certain universal truths about ourselves and patterns that will evolve during a standard life but even seeing some of the more obvious information shared in text actually reinstated its premise - that we should pattern our actions for the greater good, simply by embracing the most basic and obvious choices of acceptance, tolerance and love.

I hope this book is read by many and influences the actions of all who read it.
