ARA Review by Andromeda Flynn of The Underdog

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

The Underdog: A true Story by Janette Hirst is a non fiction novel about a time in the author's life when she was suffering from extreme anxiety and depression. The story tells of a time before she began to have problems with her boss, to being in the midst of it, being unable to cope, and finally making a court case to settle the issues that were otherwise left unresolved.

This story is good for anyone under any amount of stress thar causes them to no longer be able to react in the way they normally would or begin suffering from anxiety. No one is ever alone in anything they face.

I believe this book was written to give the author closure of the ordeal and to give others the inspiration to not suffer from work related relations. It seems it helped and the author was able to move on and continue life as she had before.

I rate this book 2 out of 5 stars as words were often misused and there were too many exclamation marks used as punctuation. I found the book difficult to read to be honest. It was emotionally written which is great to relieve the stress felt but for me personally I couldn't relate as I've had worse bosses at lower levels of pay. Nobody should feel uncomfortable going to work but it seemed to be taken to the extreme reaction.

This book just wasn't for me. It was very detailed in occurances and complaints and trying to get issues resolved and I am happy she finally got the issues resolved and was paid for her time and suffering.
