The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

"E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom," penned by Dorothy May Mercer, immerses readers in a gripping journey through a world reshaped by electromagnetic pulses. Against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic realm, the novel artfully weaves the intimate narrative of Kelly and Tom's honeymoon with the trials of a society grappling to adapt to its altered existence.

Mercer's storytelling prowess shines as she delves into the intricate dynamics of human connections amid adversity. The couple's honeymoon takes a dramatic turn when an unforeseen EMP event disrupts their reality. In navigating this unfamiliar terrain, their love story becomes a symbol of resilience and optimism, a light in the midst of chaos.

The author's keen attention to detail and vibrant descriptions draw readers into the characters' emotions and the vividly transformed world. Mercer skillfully delves into the practical aspects of survival, shedding light on the inventive solutions required to navigate a world stripped of technology.

What truly elevates "E M P Honeymoon" is Mercer's ability to seamlessly meld romance, science fiction, and post-apocalyptic themes. The narrative's pacing keeps readers engaged as it alternates between the challenges faced by the characters and the growth of their relationship.

Nevertheless, while the book offers a distinct premise and a compelling storyline, some readers might yearn for more extensive development in certain plot elements. Additionally, the equilibrium between the romantic and post-apocalyptic aspects occasionally shifts, leaving room for further depth in either domain.

In summary, "E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom" is an engaging read, particularly suitable for enthusiasts of romance and post-apocalyptic fiction. Mercer adeptly synthesizes these genres, crafting a tale of love and survival that resonates long after the final page is turned.
