ARA Review by Lottebenedict of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All - Eckhart Aurelius Hughes

If you are, like me, a hopeless romantic with too many feelings, then ''In It Together' is the perfect book recommendation for you.
This book was quite a fast-paced non-fiction story. It talks about one thing primarily; self-discipline. This returning subject ties in perfectly with its other main topics, namely happiness and emotions.
As a first year college student this book helped me a lot, since it talks about feelings that can make you feel overwhelmed and that may put you into difficult positions, but that will simultaneously empower you.
I personally deal with many changes in my life that can be overwhelming and I would suggest this book to anyone who has the same struggle.
This is what one would call a true eye-opener. It made me look into myself, my own actions and my deeds towards others. After all, you never know what they are feeling.

Even though this book was very inspiring, this book was also so honest and raw. Both these factors could make it difficult to read. We’re only humans after all, and realizing your own flaws can be uneasy.

Nevertheless this was a beautifully written book. Something I particularly liked was the deep explanation of the word ‘’meaning.’’ Mr. Hughes explains that it is not the word that is the thing that counts, but the meaning of the word. Just like or dear old friend Shakespeare wrote: ‘’Romeo, what’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet’’ (Shakespeare, 1595)
It is therefore that people can often not exactly recall the specific words a person used, but are able to recall the feelings the meaning of these words brought.

All with all, there is one promise I can make you: this book will leave you feeling inspired and will let you break free from the mental chains that are holding you back in life.

A definite 4,5/5 star read for me.
