ARA Review by Mustapha Musa 2 of Gardening With Guns

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Gardening With Guns: A Memoir by AJ Wootton is an incredibly compelling and thought-provoking read. It is a story of a man's journey of self-discovery and his attempt to reconcile his past with his present. The book follows AJ's life from his childhood in rural Virginia to his adulthood in the city. Throughout the story, AJ reflects on his past and present, exploring his relationships with his family, friends, and the gun culture of the South.

The book is written in a conversational style that makes it easy to read and follow. Wootton's writing style is engaging and often humorous. He shares his story with a candor that is both honest and vulnerable. He is not afraid to share his struggles and successes, which makes the story even more powerful.

One of the most interesting aspects of the book is AJ's exploration of the gun culture in the South. He discusses the history of gun ownership in the region and the impact it has had on the people and the land. He also examines the current gun laws and debates surrounding gun control. His thoughtful and nuanced perspective provides a unique insight into this complex issue.

The book also touches on AJ's personal journey of self-discovery. He reflects on his childhood in rural Virginia and his struggles to find his place in the world. He shares his struggles with depression and his journey to find peace and acceptance. This part of the book is especially powerful and moving.
