ARA Review by Ahzam Waheed of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

"In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All" is a literary work delving into the recognition of the transformative and unifying influence of authentic, conscious love. It illuminates the idea that fundamentally, we are interconnected at a profound level.

The narrative of the book eloquently weaves together the concepts of "self-discipline" and "spiritual freedom," asserting that in its essence, being "self-disciplined" aligns harmoniously with being "free-spirited," and vice versa. Throughout its pages, the book employs a warm, kind, affectionate, and lighthearted tone, skillfully connecting philosophy, spirituality, and self-help with timeless universal truths spanning various ages, geographical locations, and eras.

The author has skillfully integrated quotations from an eclectic range of thinkers, including but not limited to, Albert Einstein, Alan Watts, Carl Jung, Osho, Sam Harris, Ram Dass, Meister Eckhart, Eckhart Tolle, Rabbi Tina Sobo, Friedrich Nietzsche, David J Mauro, Vincent Van Gogh, George Bernard Shaw, Socrates, Voltaire, Voltairine de Cleyre, Jesus, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Shakespeare, René Descartes, Rev. Dr. John Watson, and individuals such as a prisoner named Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, along with the person who incarcerated him.

This literary creation emerged through the support of a triumphant crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, initiated even before the book's inception. The inspiration behind its genesis can be traced back to a thought-provoking inquiry: "What is the antithesis of temptation?" The book not only addresses this question but explores a myriad of others. It masterfully avoids preaching, presenting a unifying, compassionate, and profoundly compelling message that maps a journey towards inner tranquility, genuine joy, and spiritual liberation, synonymous with self-discipline. The reader is left not only enlightened but also fortified with motivation and inspiration.

In the introductory letter within the book, readers are encouraged with the words, "Persist, dear friends. The beauty lies in the endeavor. There are challenges to surmount, yet envision the significance of overcoming them."
