ARA Review by Dua Zahra 2 of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Eckhart Aurelius Hughes's "In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All". Is a beautiful narration that seeks to help us understand the life that we live while emphasizing the concept of oneness amidst the diverse environments. Hughes, a distinguished philosopher and a social observer of slighting years, goes somewhat in-depth into the dynamics of social solidarity in the increasingly polarized global society.

It can be said that the book is presented as a series of essays, all of which focus on how people could and should unite, with the aim of covering all aspects of this subject. Hughes, in a very poetic manner, almost insists that the problems we face are not barriers between us but our shared experiences on a path of learning. Using a rich tapestry of historical, literary, and personal accounts, he constructs the conceptual framework that forces the reader to redefine their ideas of togetherness or commonalities as well as a sense of shared humanity and a collective forward momentum.

It would be important to notice here that Hughes does not simply apply the frameworks of philosophical analysis to conceptual issues but also makes his investigations sensitive to practical concerns. Thus he responds to such topics as race, money, power, political divide and many more with with a tone of empathy and anger. His prose is compelling and straightforward, at the same time as the end product brings out a simplified notion of the kind of thinking that underpins real depth and complexity.

Furthermore, it provides real-life examples of how individuals can come to appreciate the process of nation building in a mixed society. In this protest, Hughes writes that if people come to accept that they are not alone in suffering but are rather part of a community working toward a common goal, then the fractured societies of the world will be healed. One can only be thankful for this Third City Primer version which is interwoven with the pros and cons of what awaits us in the future when various suggestions of this sort are implemented.

Most notably, Hughes does not succumb to the problem of over poetizing or preaching about the themes he explores. The author himself does not impose his view point and he constrains readers to think open mind fully and instead want to contribute in a way that will lead towards a united society.

Overall, I recommend the book "In It Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All" as it offers big ideas in a time when we most need them. For these reasons, along with the philosophical musings and social critiques intrinsic to the author’s writing, this work of Hughes is beneficial for anyone who earnestly aims to navigate through the complexity of modern society and their own role in a global community.
