ARA Review by NIPA SHAH of The Secrets To Living A Fantastic Life...

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

I just finished reading *The Secrets to Living a Fantastic Life* and thought, OMG! Dr. Allen Lycka and Harriet Tinka have been through incredible hardships—he survived a misdiagnosis of ALS, and she overcame a brutal attack—yet they both found strength through their individual adversities.

Together, they share the 13 'Golden Pearls' they’ve discovered through their struggles. Each pearl, from resilience to gratitude, is both relatable and genuinely uplifting. Their personal stories seamlessly weave into practical life lessons, making it feel like you're having a heartfelt conversation with friends who’ve been through so much.

One quote that really stuck with me was, “You don’t have to be perfect to be amazing.” It’s a great reminder for those of us constantly striving for perfection, because that’s not what makes life fantastic. It’s about embracing who we are and learning, day by day, that life is meant to be lived—hardships and all.

In one of the chapters, they share a powerful moment about overcoming fear. Harriet talks about reclaiming her life after the attack, saying, *'I had to decide whether to stay a victim or become the hero”.

Isn’t that what life is all about? Our most difficult experiences often fuel our greatest personal growth. That’s why this book is worth a read—it makes you pause and reflect on the life you truly want to live.

The book is filled with reminders to focus on what truly matters. They emphasize the importance of kindness and self-worth—simple but often overlooked keys to living well. Their dual perspective adds a richness to the wisdom shared. I give this book a 4 out of 5 only because although the book is very uplifting, there were areas where it didn’t dive as deep. Also, because some of the lessons seemed familiar.
