ARA Review by Kathy Smith 7 of Negotiation & Conflict Management

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Negotiation & Conflict Management: A Different Perspective, written by Johannes Jurgens Du Toit. A handy guide to take along with you to solve daily conflicts and negotiations. You could add to your reference books as a handy guide for tough situations.

The book is on how humans react in tough situations and shows some good points on how to deal with stress, on the job, techniques for self-help, and dealing with ways to help with anxiety and worry.

One negative point is that the book didn’t show chapter numbers on the contents page or before chapters or what page numbers they were on so the reader could find their place while they were reading. But they did have links to each chapter in the content page which makes it easy to follow and find your place.

Other good points were emotion to show with comfort and support. It shows how you don’t have to win arguments but you should show respect and try to effectively show viewpoints during arguments. Easy to read and follow along with the book. Points are clear and easy to understand.

Like negotiators who value good relationships, how to deal with difficult situations, and handle relations between people. I give this rating of 5 out of 5 stars for its excellence in advice for dealing with people, its advice of psychologists and experts he mentions with advice and the up-to-date psychology they use today.

With people getting along with negotiating, conflict in the workplace, or just getting along at home. It is a book anyone could enjoy that needs help with dealing with people on a day-to-day situation or in a heated negotiated situation between important people or everyday people.

This book would be good in any psychology department or office that deals with employees, negotiating, or conflict. Sound advice for the employees, bosses, and conflict in the workplace. Whether the problem is a boss-employee situation or team workers not getting along this would be a good book for any office.
