ARA Review by Lisajayauthor of Blanket Immunity

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Blanket immunity (Jo Channing book 1) by Adam Van Susteren

The story told in this book is captivating and smart. It brings you on a journey with a lawyer who has decided to open her own practice. Jo Channing is striking out on her own for the first time after being in law for ten years, on both sides as defense attorney and prosecutor.

Now that she is opening her own practice she is faced with new challenges.

Jo is almost desperate for clients but tries her hardest to be smart and ethical about whom she takes on. Her first client is an accused rapist however, he wants an immunity deal. Second client may have a dirty business and the third client may be a murderer. She is faced with being ethical and being able to not only keep her practice open but build it.

Will she continue to work with the client that has dirty businesses and inadvertently get entangled in something she shouldn’t? Will she be able to bring immunity for her client that is demanding it even though she is unsure if he really is innocent?

Jo is caught in the middle of the law while trying to balance her unraveling personal life. Will she be able to continue to be ethical while growing her practice? All these questions become answered throughout a compelling story that keeps you glued to its pages to see what decisions Jo makes next or what curveballs are thrown her way. This is the reason I give this book a 5/5 stars. A must read for anyone that’s a fan of thrillers with a compelling story.
