ARA Review by WileyKMarch of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

I was surprised upon reading In It Together by the depth and compassion with which Hughes examines the innate human struggle for "peace, love and freedom" and how we all at times, whether by decided blindness or malice usurp those rights from others.

Someone once told me, god made us with eyes so we can always see his face when we look upon others.
In this reflection, we are also the darkness. In It Together is that humbling realization in eloquent depth.

Hughes calls attention to the human condition as manifested by our own choices, refusal to take responsibility for ourselves and our trajectory, and reminds us all of the dire need to self-examine. This is the first unfolding of a map to being a better human.

In It Together should be required reading for anyone who seeks to be a more intentionally loving human being in a world where we, the citizenry have allowed political oligarchs, military scheming and corporate greed to brainwash us into complacency and futility.
