ARA Review by Shockaboo of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

In It Together is a good book for someone who wants to figure out who they really are. It helps a person see that they’re not what clothes they wear, what car they drive, or what restaurant they can afford to eat at. Reading the first part of this book helps a person to see that who we really are as human beings has nothing to do with our outward appearance.

This book helps you to see how your bad habits are actually ways to punish your future self for your lack of love for yourself in the present. There is a discussion on what the author feels is the true nature of evil. There is a section that helps you learn how to slow down, take a deep breath, and figure out what you can do to improve your life in the here and now, rather than waiting for it to be better at some point in the future. It can also help you see that reducing the number of tasks you’ve set for yourself can help you feel better about yourself.

One thing I liked about this book was how it’s written in plain language that anyone can understand. You don’t have to learn fancy psychology terms or develop a new vocabulary. The author uses examples from our everyday lives and are situations that anyone can identify with.

Above all, the author lets the reader know that they are worthy of love no matter what stage of “working on themselves” they are at. There’s no “you have to reach a certain level” before you can reward yourself or allow yourself to feel loved.

The book is written in a positive tone that makes you comfortable from the first sentence. No one is made to feel like less here. Everyone can learn to be more loving towards themselves and their fellow man.

I gave this bok a 5 out of 5 star rating for its readability and its positive message.
