ARA Review by Carin Camen of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

I read on a Kindle, the formatting of this book wasn't done right so the page numbers and reading time were off, thus the reason for the rating. Content wise, it's a 5 out of 5 star.

From the first sentence to the very last, this book is thought provoking. It isn't a quick read, because you'll find yourself stopping and reflecting on what you've just read and how you're interpreting it in your life. The entirety of the book comes down to one question, "How can we take care of another, if we're incapable of taking care of ourselves?"

We've been trained to think that if we are thinking about ourselves, it is selfish. Yet, the first relationship we learn to develop is the one with ourselves. In It Together, takes you step by step to reprogram your mindset to understanding the beauty of loving oneself. It is only then can we extend love out to others.

Throughout the pages, you'll contemplate what type of relationship you've developed with yourself and what steps you want to take to improve it. You'll explore thoughts which come naturally to your mind but are not natural in a healthy relationship. You may find yourself laughing and crying as you read this book; and realize the little things you do, which isn't conducive to fostering a healthy relationship with yourself.

As you pause to reflect upon the passages read, you'll be reunited with your true self and come to appreciate the beauty you have within, with the multi-faceted ray of emotions and quirks which make up the being of you. You'll no longer despise who you are but embrace the entirety of you as you realize you are more than just one moment in time. Your journey into developing yourself, begins with appreciating who you are at that very moment, and the strength you've displayed in overcoming the challenges which has help make you the person you are today. Rather than waste time regretting choices of the past, you'll see them in a different light as you realize the experience gave you greater insight into becoming who you are now. It will be a bridging of time as you realize the experiences of today are creating the person of tomorrow.

In It Together is a book you'll refer to as you begin the journey of learning what love is and how to apply it to yourself. It is a book you'll enjoy reading and sharing with others you love and want to improve your relationship with.
