ARA Review by siyali001 of Free Fish Friday

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Free Fish Friday is an absolutely refreshing read. It starts out as a murder mystery centered around the fishing industry in Key West Florida. The author Lee Stone has excellent knowledge about fishing and he has introduced both the setting as well as the protagonist Slacker Mills in a very vivid manner.

Although there was a bit of detailing while describing fishing techniques and different types of fish, the book does educate the reader regarding the variety of fish that are caught and eaten. For example I learnt that there is a fish called mahi-mahi which is also known as a dolphin-fish.

The book is a page turner as the murder investigation progresses but the ending was a bit of an anticlimax.

The language in the book is absolutely clean. I would describe this book as an over all fun read.

I have rated this book as 4 out of 5 because of the way Lee Stone was able to create so much excitement with his detailed description of fishing expeditions or the first time a Free Fish Friday was hosted at the restaurant or the beautiful colours of the Mahi Mahi, without making the narration boring or long drawn.
