ARA Review by R McCallum of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

This book is filled with some good thoughts but enmeshed in a sea of gobbledygook. Every thought, idea, or practice the author could learn from is presented here as a total mixture of opposites that we are encouraged to accept as reality.

The idea that we are two parts is true. The "two yous" the author talks about can help many to understand themselves better if they have never seen the differences. We are spiritual beings, not merely flesh. However, there are many ideas presented I do not agree with at all.

The idea of unity is excellent, but I found the book not only boring but reminded me of someone who thought they knew everything and actually knew nothing. As it says in the Bible in Romans 1:19-22 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

I did find the part about love to be true. To love everyone and love everything. That is hard to do when you are experiencing tough times but often it is for our benefit. The lessons we learn from going through tough times makes us a better person.

I hate to give such a bad review, but this is a book I cannot recommend. Rated 1 on a scale of one to five.
