ARA Review by Alemap000 of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

An effective book that focuses on concrete ways to move forward. I found it easy to read, with some hard truths that the author presents clearly.

I gave it a 5 out of 5, mainly because it gets the job done. It's an easy book to sink into, with a gentle initial approach that belies the stretch the reader will need to make down the road. Don't be fooled by the tone of the first chapter- while the author is supportive, you'll need to do some work here.

The most impactful moments of the book for me were when the author expanded on core philosophies regarding cultural dynamics as they relate to an individual's needs. I found myself nodding in agreement or pausing to let a connection sink in. The book is engaging. I did need to re-read a few parts a second time, especially after reading the whole book.

Solid book. Well written, clear ideas, effective presentation, and designed to move you forward.
