ARA Review by Mufasa kibe of Cobwebs of Youth

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

"Cobwebs of Youth" by Rose Auburn is a compelling coming-of-age novel that explores the challenges and complexities of growing up. The story follows the protagonist, Lily, as she navigates the turbulent waters of adolescence, dealing with issues such as identity, family, relationships, and the search for meaning and purpose in life.

Auburn does an excellent job of capturing the essence of teenage life, with all its highs and lows, its joys and sorrows, and its moments of confusion and uncertainty. Lily's struggles are portrayed with empathy and insight, and readers are likely to relate to her experiences, whether they are young adults themselves or older readers who remember what it was like to be a teenager.

The author's prose is evocative and lyrical, with beautiful descriptions that bring the story to life. The characters are well-drawn and believable, with their flaws and vulnerabilities making them all the more human and relatable.

What sets "Cobwebs of Youth" apart from other coming-of-age novels is its depth and complexity. Auburn delves into weighty themes such as mental health, substance abuse, and self-discovery, exploring them with sensitivity and nuance. The novel is not afraid to tackle difficult topics, but it does so in a way that is honest and authentic, never shying away from the harsh realities of life.

Overall, "Cobwebs of Youth" is a powerful and moving novel that is sure to resonate with readers of all ages. It is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, and a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a brighter future. I rate this book a 5 out of 5
