ARA Review by Rochelle Pieterse of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

In It Together by Eckhart Hughes
Genre: Non-Fiction / Self-Help
Pages: 224
3 out of 5

“In It Together” is a self-help book that aims to provide readers with insights and advice on how to lead a fulfilling life by embracing the power of connection and collaboration. The book is structured in a way that presents the author’s personal experiences and observations, along with exercises and prompts to encourage readers to reflect on their own lives and relationships. While the book has been praised by many for its positive message and practical advice, it appears that it did not resonate with me as a reader.

One possible reason for my dissatisfaction with the book is most definitely the fact that it is not my usual genre and therefore I cannot give it a low rating based on that. That is also the main reason why I had such a difficult time reading it. As someone who is not typically drawn to self-help books, I found the content to be repetitive and uninteresting and repeating. Additionally, the book’s focus on the importance of connection and collaboration have not resonated with my personal values and experience.

I have found Hughes writing style as simplistic and lacking in depth, and I must admit that I was expecting a more nuanced and complex exploration of the book’s theme.

Despite my lower rating of “In It Together”, it’s important to note that the book has received positive feedback from many readers and has been praised for its practical advice and uplifting message. Some readers have found the exercises and prompts to be particularly helpful in fostering a sense of connection and community in their own lives.

Overall, while “In It Together” may not have been a perfect fit for me as a reader, it is still worth considering for those who are interested in learning more about the power of connection and collaboration in leading a fulfilling life.
