ARA Review by Daine Walker 1 of Coaching Conversations That Count

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Coaching Conversations That Count: Leading Teams with Continuous Conversations by Emily Nightingale is an insightful book that provides a comprehensive guide for team leaders and managers on how to have effective coaching conversations with their team members. The book is divided into three parts that cover different aspects of coaching conversations, including building relationships, having performance conversations, and leading change.

The author emphasizes the importance of continuous conversations and how they can help to build trust and engagement among team members. She provides practical tools and techniques that can be used to improve communication skills, including active listening, asking powerful questions, and providing constructive feedback.

One of the strengths of this book is the author's emphasis on the need for leaders to focus on the development of their team members. She provides guidance on how to identify and leverage the strengths of individual team members, while also addressing areas for improvement. This approach not only helps to improve team performance but also fosters a culture of continuous learning and development.

Overall, I found Coaching Conversations That Count to be a highly valuable resource for leaders who are looking to improve their coaching skills. The author's writing style is clear and engaging, and the practical tools and techniques provided throughout the book are actionable and easy to implement.

I rate this book 3 out of 5. While the author provides a thorough and practical guide to coaching conversations, I felt that some of the content could have been more concise. Nonetheless, the book is a highly informative and useful resource for anyone looking to improve their coaching skills and lead high-performing teams.
