ARA Review by alexstratton of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

I would rate the book a 4 out of 5. In my opinion, your writing presents an eloquent critique of human apathy towards widespread global suffering, particularly the heartbreaking issue of child starvation. The story succeeds in triggering emotion from the reader, demonstrating the gravity of the problem and challenging us to take action.

Your use of potent imagery and the effective employment of rhetorical questions foster introspection, prodding one to examine their own contribution or lack thereof to alleviate these global crises. The metaphors used, like comparing the human race to vampires and politicians to bloodsuckers, reinforce your message and keep the reader engaged.

While your story is powerful and moving, it also paints a very bleak picture of humanity, perhaps overly so. It's essential to remember that many people do work tirelessly to help alleviate these issues; emphasizing this might help balance the narrative and inspire action rather than despair.

Overall, your writing is thought-provoking and passionate. It successfully communicates the urgency of addressing the vast disparities that exist in our world and questions our collective inaction. However, infusing a sense of hope and highlighting the efforts made by individuals or organizations in tackling these problems might make the story more balanced and inspiring.

Your writing style is vivid and engaging. You use various literary devices, such as metaphors and analogies, effectively, which makes your ideas and suggestions more relatable and understandable. The metaphor of a 'mask used to deceive others becoming a prison' is particularly powerful.

The explanation about honesty being a fundamental principle in seeking inner peace is insightful. You make a compelling case for why being honest with oneself is a prerequisite to genuine spiritual development.

A slight caution: The narrative is dense with ideas, which might make it a challenging read for some people, especially those new to such concepts. Breaking down some of the concepts and elaborating on them in simpler terms could potentially make it more accessible to a broader audience. That being said I would recommend your book to others.
