ARA Review by Chaotic_Reading of Fish Wielder

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Fish Wielder follows Thoral Mighty Fist and his companions in their adventures across the world of Grome.

This book is fantastic! I have never fallen in love with a book so quickly in my life! I was completely hooked by page 10! It’s clear from the very start that it’s a satirical work, but that doesn’t stop the author from bringing a completely new story to light, especially since there are references from all the greatest fantasy stories of the last 100 years! I recognized several authors, yet at the same time, the story felt like I was following along with a DnD party that was letting the dice decide the fate of the story. Some of the circumstances felt that wildly thrown together, but in a way that somehow also made sense.

The reader is thrown right into the middle of a fantastic world where nothing is explained, yet the reader just seems to understand what is happening. Things in this world are the way they are just because, and that helps to immerse the reader even more. There is no over explaining as to why magic works, or why some animals can talk while others cannot. Everything just is, and that is part of the magic of this book.

Despite this, the story is heartwarming and exciting with epic twists and turns. While some are expected, others are not, and are quite shocking, too! All of them fit seamlessly into the overall plot of the story, and I couldn’t be happier with this book. There was laughter, shock, tears, and several times where I rolled my eyes because “of course that’s in this book, too.”

I would definitely recommend this book to any avid fantasy reader. It’s worth every second you spend reading it. 5 out of 5 stars It's been a long time since I have read a book that has kept me from wanting to put it down, and this is on that list for sure!
