The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Alaska Deadly by J.L. Askew

This is an enthralling journey into the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, where Memphis private eye Race Warren embarks on a thrilling mission to find a missing man. The story is a captivating blend of crime thriller, mystery, and suspense, making it a must-read for mature adult audiences who appreciate a well-crafted, fast-paced plot.

The book introduces us to Race Warren, a charismatic and determined private investigator, whose quest to locate a client's estranged husband takes him to the remote and dangerous landscapes of Alaska. The author, J.L. Askew, masterfully weaves multiple storylines, creating a web of intrigue and suspense that never fails to keep the reader engaged.

One of the standout features of Alaska Deadly is the compelling dynamic between Warren and Ron Billings, the ex-cop searching for his missing daughter. Their contrasting approaches and personalities add depth to the narrative, resulting in sharp dialogue and intelligent conversations that drive the converging storylines forward.

The Alaskan setting is not merely a backdrop; it becomes an integral part of the story, offering a unique cultural layer and an atmospheric backdrop for the unfolding mystery. Askew's vivid descriptions of the harsh Alaskan wilderness add an extra layer of tension and challenge to the narrative, making it an even more immersive read.

The plot takes unexpected twists and turns, with Warren uncovering a mysterious cult devoted to shapeshifting, encountering a sinister sex trafficking ring led by a formidable Russian antagonist, and ultimately finding himself in a thrilling battle against the odds. The pacing is relentless, and the book never shies away from danger, ensuring that readers will be on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

In conclusion, Alaska Deadly is a gripping crime thriller that leaves no room for boredom. With its well-developed characters, intriguing plotlines, and vivid Alaskan setting, it's a recommended read for mystery enthusiasts and I would rate this book five out of five stars. J.L. Askew's storytelling skills shine in this novel, and readers can eagerly anticipate more thrilling adventures from this talented author.
