This Side of the Darkness by Andromeda Storm portraits the life of a little girl that grows up surrounded by monsters, be people or be feelings, they are all the fearless villains that feed from your fear. Despite being unoriginal, the debate it brings up is astonishing and outstanding at the moment it relates to many children around the world that lives the same life as the main character; at the moment it tells nothing but the truth, the (un)realistic facts that most people tend to turn the faces aside to.

Words have the power to change thoughts, someone's perspective or just to hurt somebody. This author uses words to claim only one thing: the truth. Sometimes it is painful, indeed, but cannot be denied, neglected or ignored. The truth is an universal need.

Now, one of the best features of the novel is the Introduction. There's nothing more valuable in a paperwork than a good introduction to keep the readers interested and to disclose its proposition. As previous stated, the relevancy with reality is another aspect that needs to be praised. The introduction makes it clear that none of what is about to come is just a mere work of fiction, but rather the statements of a very real people.

The grammar was flawless and competent, the choice of vocabulary was proper, meaning that it was clearly well edited, effectively handing over the biography's reflective tone.

I rate the novel 5 out of 5, highly recommending it to interested potential readers. It is a worthwhile reading experience that enhances certain discussions based on a firsthand perspective.
