ARA Review by Ryan Penley of In It Together

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

In it Together: The Beautiful Struggle Uniting Us All

This book delves into the hard-hitting and desired elements of life. Love, spirituality, reality (or lack thereof), mentality, and relationships. There is also no shortage of advice and steps to take if you are finding yourself lacking in any of these areas.

We are not our clothes and not our style or social media. The author drives home several important ideas that bring me back to Fight Club, a personal favorite of mine when people become too attached. The author derives ideas about being wielded around society and we don't have to. We don't have to become sheep. What's more important is progress.

I appreciate the approach the author has to spirituality. It's a blend of Eastern philosophy and current-day verbiage. Most of the ideas seem to be easily applied in the modern world but have existed for who knows how long. I believe that if I can successfully apply some of the frameworks in my own life, things will become better for me. We can choose to be free and happy if that becomes our actual conscious decision and cease to let the environment that we are in dictate how we operate. This idea is rather straightforward forward but others in the book could be more tricky. For example, temptation has more than just a few dimensions in it's consideration. Nonetheless, I plan on making the most of these golden lessons.

Thank you for your time and this useful work.
