ARA Review by Rameesha Eman of This Side of the Darkness

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

A musical work "This Side of the Darkness" by Andromeda Storm is a fascinating voyage into the human mind and the unspoken fears within. It is located in a small, almost idealistic town yet it is quite compelling for readers who are used to fast-moving stories with well-drawn characters and colourful language.

The story has its core in the main character who is mysterious and yet so attractive, and whose attempt to reconcile her broken memories keeps the story well attached. As she progresses into the riddles of the town, she becomes entangled in a web of secrets, lies, and hidden truths; every new disclosure adds one more dimension to an already intricate plot.

There is something magical about Storm's language which makes you feel as if under a spell, not being able to stop reading. The details she provides are full of colors and smells, creating a clear image of the town and its people while at the same time adding to the suspense of the story. Through her character's path we notice how reality and fantasy blend, thus making us ponder about truth itself.

Rather, it is the investigation of more sinister subjects that makes "This Side of the Darkness" an exceptional work. In this story, Storm really digs deep into the minds of her characters, peeling off layer after layer to reveal what is real and often disturbing beneath. Themes like identity, memory and the nature of reality fill the plotline giving even more depth and complexity to this already fascinating tale.

As the mysteries of the town begin to unravel, the tension builds to a fever pitch, culminating in a breathtaking climax that will leave readers on the edge of their seats. And yet, even as the final pages are turned, the story lingers, haunting the reader long after the book is closed. In "This Side of the Darkness," Andromeda Storm has crafted a masterpiece of psychological suspense—a must-read for fans.

It's rating must be 5 out of 5
